Drama workshop: The Meisner Technique

A FREE drama workshop for amateur actors and would-be actors, focusing on the Meisner technique - an approach to acting that aims to help the actor to behave instinctively to the surrounding environment. To this end, some exercises are rooted in repetition so that the words are deemed insignificant compared to the underlying emotion. In the Meisner technique, there is a greater focus on the other actor as opposed to one's internal thoughts or feelings associated to the character. The session starts at 7.00 and will be led by Martin Maynard, himself formerly a professional actor. Booking not required.
