Creative practitioner - Leeds Creative Labs

Creative practitioner - Leeds Creative Labs

The Cultural Institute at the University of Leeds is inviting applications from artists and creative practitioners from any discipline to join Leeds Creative Labs: Virtual Edition.

Leeds Creative Labs is an innovative programme which since 2012 has matched creative and academic partners in a playful, open collaboration that encourages discussion and exploration, with no brief other than to see what happens.

This ‘virtual’ edition aims to inspire and challenge University researchers and academics to work with collaborative partners in order to develop new ideas, without physically requiring participants to meet. Creative partners receive a bursary of £750 and are asked to dedicate 3 days (at their mutual convenience) to the programme.

Each successful applicant will be matched with an academic or academic team from the University of Leeds. Matches are based not only on areas of professional interest, but also on a shared sense of curiosity and ambition. The intention is not for the creative professional to communicate the work of the academic or increase engagement with the academic’s research, but for academic and creative participants to work collaboratively as equal partners exploring how their knowledge and skillsets can work together.

The deadline for applications is Midnight on Sunday 9th August 2020
