Monoprinting with Rags

Monoprinting with Rags

This workshop uses the gestural marks created when using rags as a painting or drawing tool. The plates created will then be put through the press to get an even sure transfer of image.

We will start the workshop loosening up by making compressed charcoal drawings with
the added use of rags. The drawings will then
be used as a basis to make prints. Monoprints are made by drawing with rags using water-miscible oil paints. Other non-conventional tools can also be used, including toothbrushes and cotton buds.
