Animation Celebration Workshops

Delve into the world of animation this summer with our creative workshops. From comic strips, to caricatures, flicker books to puppet shows. We can help you bring your imagination to life!

6th August
11.00-12.30pm, 2.00-3.30pm
Funny Faces (40 spaces per workshop)
In this family workshop you will learn how to draw comical caricatures of your friends and family using a variety of different materials and techniques. Suitable for children aged 6 and over. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

7th August
11.00-12.30pm, 2.00-3.30pm
Motion Magic (40 spaces per workshop)
Make your pictures move as if by magic by using some early animation techniques. We will be having fun with flicker books and making zany zeotropes plus lots more. Suitable for children aged 3 and over. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

11th August

Create a Comic
Ever wanted to make your very own comic book? We will give you the tools you need to create your own characters and story line and then help you to turn your ideas into a finished masterpiece. Suitable for children aged 8 and over, accompanying adult to be on site.

12th August

Make and Mould (40 spaces per workshop)
Come and make and mould your own Wallace and Gromits from a variety of modelling materials. Suitable for children of all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Petworth Puppet Theatre (20 spaces per workshop)
11.00-12.30pm, 2.00-3.30pm
Roll up, Roll up! How better to end our celebration of all things animated than by putting on your very own puppet show? You will get to make a puppet and then perform a special play in our Petworth Puppet Theatre.
