About the Open Studio: Herts Visual Arts’ flagship county-wide annual event Herts Open
Studios is taking place from 7th – 29th September 2019.
This year, Ceramic Artist Sarah Core will be exhibiting alongside fellow Barnet artist Liz Purkis
(Venue 16 in the brochure) over two weekends, 14-15 and 21-22 September 2019.

11.00am - 4pm, Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 September 2019

Sarah is a British Ceramic Artist who works with the physical, mindful and repetitive process of
making in clay. Her work investigates our ongoing relationship with the lived experience largely
through the human form. She began making following a life-threatening accident and has studied
with international artist Sandy Brown. Sarah will be exhibiting her most recent sculpture.

Working with drawing, installation, paper making and printmaking, Liz invites us to wonder what
creatures of the future will think about the fossils and traces we leave behind, and what these
might look like.

working in Barnet, who found each other in 2018 through the Open Studios network of Herts
