Youth Ambassador Programme - Calling all young people!!

We are looking for 10 - 20 people looking to learn more about the arts sector, whether that's music, poetry, film or DJing, this is the opportunity for YOU!!

Youth Ambassador Programme
It’s more than any experience, this is life experience!

What is it?
The Youth Ambassador Programme is a scheme which enriches supports and teaches young people who are looking to gain more knowledge and understanding within the arts industry. The scheme can be run over a number of weeks or months, depending on the flexibility of the client.

The young people have the options to work individually or in a group but must document their own work. The young people will choose a subject or topic, arts related to focus on during the programme. Inspire to Aspire will help and support young people at all times during the programme which will ensure that they excel and learn and get the most out of it.
They will also be taken to events or to see professionals in the industry relating to their specific art form. This is a great aspect to the programme as it allows the young people to gain more knowledge about their art form and the industry as a whole. They also have the opportunity to not only watch and attend events, but go backstage and find out what really happens behind the scenes. From this experience they will then have the chance to teach others what they have learnt about their art form. This can be by running a workshop or running a mini-event showcasing what they have learnt.

Inspire to Aspire are working with Trinity College in delivering the ‘Arts Award’. The Arts Award is a qualification which is recognised nationally and is a great thing to add to your CV. It can easily fit around any other commitments as it can be done both at home and at a centre.
At the end of the programme each young person will walk away with a recognised national qualification, portfolio showing their creative achievements, gaining more opportunities for the future, meeting professionals and real-life experiences.
The subjects Inspire to Aspire deliver are:

Who is it for?

The Youth Ambassador Programme is for young people aged 13 – 25. The great thing about this scheme is you don’t have to be creative or artistic; you just have to have an interest in the arts. ‘The Arts’ doesn’t just mean creative arts and paintings. Inspire to Aspire cover a wide range of subjects and are no entry requirements for doing the programme; this allows all young people to eligible to gain a qualification.

Where can I do it?

Inspire to Aspire can run the Ambassador Programme in your own premises or schools, colleges and youth centres. This way the location is known by students if held by their school or college or young people if held in their local youth centres. Alternatively, Inspire to Aspire can run it in an external location but additional costs will apply. As well as the training on site, Inspire to Aspire will take the young people on trips and invite experts or professionals in the arts sector in to run workshops.
Currently, we work mostly in Hertfordshire, but can travel to almost anywhere in the United Kingdom to deliver and run the Youth Ambassador Programme.

Why should I do it?

The Youth Ambassador Programme is something that not only teaches young people more about the arts, but allows them to gain real-life experiences within the sector and opportunity to meet professionals in the industry. The young people can broaden their networks, meet like-minded people and learn more about themselves along the way. The Arts Award is a recognised national qualification which has no restrictions for young people to apply and no entry requirements, allowing anyone to do it!
Being an organisation that supports the Arts Award always looks good from an external perspective as it shows that you support the arts and development of young people. ‘The Arts’ is a rapidly growing sector and has been highlighted a lot in the media recently. This is why now is the best time to get involved and get supporting the arts and the young people.
