East Street Arts has been given access to a vacant shop unit in Charter Place shopping centre until May 2014 and we are inviting expressions of interest for use from local artists and arts organisations. To use the space;
• You would need to be (or become) a member of East Street Arts,
• There is no hire fee for the space but you would need to meet the costs of putting on the exhibition (heating, lighting, transport, marketing).
It is a large shop unit in the outdoor section of the shopping centre opposite New Look with two large windows at the front with shelving units. The shop has white walls and laminate floors. There is also a workshop area out the back with more shelving and changing rooms that are partly partitioned which would lend themselves well to installation work. The centre has late night opening on Thursdays until 9pm.
