My latest body of work is inspired by the hidden depths of the Lawrence Batley Theatre, Huddersfield and seeks to bring some of the magic and mystery of the Theatre alive.
Even at times when the Theatre lays silent and empty I have found it to be full of vibrancy and character, ready and waiting to be filled with light, music, dance, performance and an excited hustle and bustle.
The work I have shared in this exhibition comprises of Limited Edition Giclée prints from my two latest Series; The Support Act and Choreographed Colours.
The Support Act is a series of black and white images which afford centre stage to the elusive and fascinating framework which holds the Theatre, it’s shows and the performances together, often hidden from the public eye.
Choreographed Colours is a set of vibrant images born out of the Theatre’s colour palette, blended with soft focus and a sensitive movement of colour, shape and form.
