Acrylic Portrait Demo with Paul Berryman

Please join us for a fascinating demonstration of acrylic portraits by artist Paul Berryman.

"I'm a self-confessed Portrait and life-drawing junkie, my work invariably revolves around capturing the human face and figure. I prefer the challenge of working from life, and am lucky enough to do so regularly.

My style is very likeness orientated, but I do covet reducing an image to the barest form in which it can still give the viewer a complete version of reality and a bit of the “wow” factor when they get up close and realise how little the image is actually made of.

I’m 95% self-taught, but have taken a few short courses with some luminaries of the figurative art world, Florence trained Louis Smith and Shane Wolf amongst them.

My demo style is light, conversational and encourages dialogue as and when someone wants to engage. It’s more fun for us all that way!”

This evening is a great way to get together, catch up and be inspired to get creative ourselves. No need to book in advance, just turn up, and we look forward to seeing you there.

The entry door into the school is the one above the steps from the lower playground / carpark. The hall is then accessed via the double doors on the left.
