St Albans Symphony Orchestra (SASO) 2026 Family Concert

Our popular annual Family Concert(s) will be held on Sunday the 19th of April, in St Saviour’s Church , Sandpit Lane, St Albans AL1 4DF, performances at 2:00 and 3:30 p.m.
With the theme ‘Space’ (chosen by 2025’s audience) we will perform extracts from a wide range of pieces, from Gustav Holst’s The Planets, to Judith Weir’s Planet, and include several John Williams tunes (from E.T. and Star Wars).
There will be an interval in each performance, when the children are invited to mingle with the musicians, and try-out the instruments.
The Family Concerts are probably the most important of our season, in encouraging interest and involvement with classical music - ‘planting seeds’. Audience involvement is encouraged, with both audience and musicians invited to wear fancy dress.
