Creative Communities Creative Communities

Creative Communities is a new project hosted by Villages in Action. Creative Communities aims to set up rural-based, arts workshop programmes for young people aged 14 - 25. Workshops are available in a wide range of artforms including photography, video, drama, dance, animation, music, d.j. digital art, creative writing and a plethora of visual arts options including textiles, puppets, sculpture, carnival and more. In fact we are open to any suggestions of what the projects might be. We are keen to meet with interested groups and to support a consultative process to help them decide the sort of activity they are interested in pursuing and can then work with them to plan, organise and run a series of arts workshops.

We have funds to pay for professional arts workers to run sessions. We ask for a commitment from participants of £4 per head, per project (this can be for six or more sessions) and all we really need is a group of interested young people who would like to be involved in setting up their own arts project and who have a space where workshops can take place.

If you are an artist with experience of working with young people, then contact us on kate@villagesinaction.co.uk to be included in our artist database.
