Artists Access to Art Colleges Placements: Hudds University

As part of the national Artists Access to Art Colleges project the University of Huddersfield will be offering three placements to visual artists, giving them the opportunity to undertake a period of research or realise a project between January and June, using the workshops and supporting facilities associated with their Contemporary art, Illustration and Photography courses. They would like at least one placement to be an illustrator

Facilities available - Printmaking / Printing (digital, screen, Riso, booklet printing, binding equipment), Textiles (weave, knit, print, dye, embroidery, rug tufting), 3D construction (wood, ceramics, laser-cutter, 3D printing, spray booths), Moving image / Photography (studios, motion capture, virtual reality analogue and digital cameras, Black Magic film cameras) Painting, Drawing, Library and Lecture programme. • Access is free, hopefully for at least 100 hours, between Jan 2021 and June 2022
• AA2A's Support Fund, for artists on benefits and low income can provide expenses up to £350
• All previous AA2A Artists can apply
• MA or PhD students can apply on graduation if they have one year’s previous professional practice
• All other applicants must have at least one year’s professional practice after graduation before applying
• Applicants must be able to work with minimal technical support
• Schemes aim to benefit students and institutions by contact with practicing creatives
• AA2A welcomes applications from those with disabilities, from culturally diverse backgrounds and non-graduates.
