Arts in the Neighbourhood awards £10,000 to local arts projects

Another £10,000 has just been awarded to local arts projects by the Arts in the Neighbourhood Grants Scheme run by the Kirklees Creative Economy Team.

Those funded were:

* Batley Smile to run a project called Batley Can! – a series of art workshops for local residents to enjoy the joy of creating and recycling at the same time.

* Connect Housing Association for a project called Routes and Roots - a series of photographic workshops for four socially and geographically distinct groups exploring the themes of neighbourhood

* The Friends of Beaumont Park for Beaumont Park’s Beautiful Poetry – a permanent exhibition of poetry around the park (conditional upon receipt of other funding bids)

* Golcar Lily Day 2016

* Holmfirth Festival of Folk 2016

* Huddersfield Literature Festival 2016

If you have an arts project coming up that requires funding, do take a look at the Arts in the Neighbourhood webpage. The scheme offers grants between £150 and £2,000 as a contribution to arts and cultural projects which benefit and involve Kirklees residents. The deadline for the final round of funding in 2015-16 is 31 January 2016 (for projects taking place from 1 April 2016 onwards).
