Clore Duffield Main Grants Programme

Clore Duffield Main Grants Programme

The Clore Duffield Foundation is a grant-making charity which supports cultural learning, the creation of learning spaces within arts and heritage organisations, leadership training, and enhancing Jewish life.

The Main Grants Programme is open to registered charities (local authority cultural organisations are also eligible to apply). It should be noted that the majority of support is directed towards the cultural sector, and in particular to cultural learning and to museum, gallery, heritage and performing arts learning spaces.

The Foundation does not fund projects retrospectively and will not accept (or respond to) applications from the following:
• Individuals
• General appeals and circulars
• Projects outside the UK.

It should also be noted that the following are very rarely funded:
• Staff posts
• Local branches of national charities
• Academic or project research
• Conference costs

Applications are reviewed and rejected on an ongoing basis, although all successful grants can only be awarded at meetings of the Trustees. These are held twice a year, usually in June and December. Grants range from £10,000 to in excess of £1m, although larger grants are made infrequently. The majority of expenditure is for capital projects – only a small number of grants are made each year for programme funding.
