Create Sheffield: Manager

Create Sheffield: Manager

30hrs (0.8 FTE), £30k, pro-rata. Can be worked flexibly by negotiation.
Closing date for applications is Monday 9th May 2022.
Interviews will be held on Friday 20th May 2022.

Create Sheffield aims to engage all children and young people across Sheffield with the arts and cultural industries, working to remove barriers to engagement where they exist.

They work strategically with a range of organisations operating in sectors that range from theatre and dance to circus, coding and computer games. They’re here to facilitate and celebrate young peoples’ participation in arts and culture.

From introducing young people to creative careers, to collaborating with local artists, their adventures, stories and events make the quality and vibrancy of Sheffield available to all who want to get involved.

About the role

Create Sheffield is Sheffield’s Local Cultural Education Partnership (LCEP). Formed in 2016, Create Sheffield is one of 15 LCEPs established in Yorkshire and the Humber by IVE, the Arts Council’s Bridge Organisation for the region, in response to the Cultural Education Challenge. Despite the challenging COVID times the organisation has grown to become both a partnership and a registered charity and it is now poised to take on a vital role in the creative recovery of the city and finding ways to give more opportunities to support children and young people in the city and the South Yorkshire region.

They are now seeking an experienced professional to drive forward the Create Sheffield mission and to foster collaboration with cultural partners, education settings and agencies who support child development. At this point of development, they are looking for an ideal candidate who can bring expertise in business management, fundraising and relationship building.

The role demands some authentic knowledge and ability to advocate for the power of arts and heritage in education. They seek someone with recent experience of working in the education or the cultural sector who will be able to demonstrate knowledge of issues currently facing schools and learning settings.

This post is a fixed 2-year contract with the option to review end of year 1, subject to funding.
