FREE EVENT TRAINING for Kirklees-based community orgs/groups

Does your Kirklees group or organisation put on outdoor events such as festivals, galas, parades and music concerts? Do you expect audiences of over 500? If so, then these FREE Event Training sessions will help guide you through some of the planning, logistics and information needed to help you run a successful and safe event.

Run by experienced facilitators you can attend all 7 sessions or pick the ones that are most relevant for your group or organisation. However, for some sessions it is recommended that you attend more than one session, such as Health & Safety.

1. Tues 19 January 2016 - Basic Event Planning and Logistics
2. Weds 27 January 2016 – Licensing and Safety Advisory Groups
3. Tues 2 February 2016 - Health and Safety Part 1 (Set up logistics) – Venue Selection and Site Design, Temporary Demountable Structures, Traffic Management, Road Closures, Crowd Management, Stewarding/Security. Inc Equality Act 2010
4. Weds 10 February 2016 - Health and Safety Part 2 – including; First Aid/Medical Provision, Lost Child/Safeguarding Procedures, Environmental Health (noise/food, etc), Staffing/Volunteers/Performers. Emergency Planning (fire safety). Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
5. Tues 16 February 2016 - Health and Safety Part 3 - Event Management Plans and Risk Assessments
6. Weds 24 February 2016 - Fundraising, Sponsorship and Business Planning
7. Tues 1 March 2016 - Marketing and Audience Development
