Head of Stage: Leeds Playhouse

Are you a technician with experience of Stage & Automation within the events and entertainment industry? If yes, join Leeds Playhouse in the role of Head of Stage to lead their Stage Department.

You will be responsible for the Deputy Head of Stage and Senior Stage Technician, alongside casual stage technicians & freelancers. You will be line managed by the Technical Director and working alongside the other Production Heads of Departments, offering technical expertise to our range of programme & activity across the organisation.

You will be responsible for supporting the rehearsal process, delivering rehearsal sets, problem solving and ensuring a robust health & safety environment for everyone throughout the performances.

You will be a key part of the welcome for Visiting Companies ensuring their time with the Playhouse runs as smoothly as possible.

Pay is £34,289 per year, made up of two parts: your basic wage and an element to cover other payments.

Basic wage of £27,299 for a full-time position. This covers your work for 40 hours a week, over 6 days (Monday to Saturday) including weekend and evening work. You may be required to work on public holidays.
You will be expected to work additional hours when there are peaks in work. This will be a further £6,990 per year (paid in monthly instalments) in consideration of those extra hours (up to 336 hours a year) and instead of other ancillary payments (e.g. meal allowances). Any hours exceeding 336 additional hours per year will be taken as time off in lieu with agreement from Technical Director.
You will remain eligible for additional pay if you work BECTU/UK Theatre commercial gets outs, or if you work on Sundays.
