Kirklees Arts in the Neighbourhood Funds More Creative Projects

Another six organisations have just received funding from the second round of the Arts in the Neighbourhood grant scheme.

Amongst those funded were three festivals coming up in 2017: the Slaithwaite Moonraking Festival, the Huddersfield Literature Festival and the Holmfirth Festival of Folk.

Other organisations funded were: The Children’s Art School who will run a 6 month residency in Huddersfield town centre, working with children and young people to create a range of 2D and 3D collaborative art works which explore the history, culture and visual environment of Huddersfield; Callaloo Carnival Arts UK for their Callaloo ‘Jam’ project – a series of spoken word and music gigs and finally Let’s Go Yorkshire who were allocated funding towards their Let's Play Vinyl Tour 2017-18

2016/17 is the final year of the Arts in the Neighbourhood Scheme and there is just one round of funding remaining- the closing date for which is 31 January 2017 (for projects taking place from 1 April 2017 onwards)

If you have an arts or creative project coming up that requires funding, please take a look at the Arts in the Neighbourhood webpage for further information. The scheme offers grants between £150 and £2,000 as a contribution to arts and cultural projects which benefit and involve Kirklees residents.

Please note: if you think you might like to make an application to the Scheme, you must have successfully registered with the Kirklees Grants Access Point four weeks prior to the closing date for applications (if you would like to do this please email funding@kirklees.gov.uk or telephone the Funding Team on 01484 414824). Registration last for 3 years - if you are already registered, please do check with the Funding Team that your current registration has not expired.
