#techgoals is an ambitious programme to improve digital skills

#techgoals is an ambitious programme to improve digital skills in schools across the Leeds City Region. The programme - the first of its kind in the UK - offers development for teachers and a wide range of resources to equip young people for the range of exciting digital careers that exist across the City Region.

Book now (via Eventbirte link) for one of the free after-school CPD events for secondary teachers to introduce you to #techgoals and discover a wealth of digital learning resources to support you in the classroom.

At the event, you’ll:

Discover the wealth of teaching resources available to help you engage Key Stages 3 to 4 students in the computing curriculum – these resources are FREE, easy to use, designed by employers and based on real-life scenarios. They include resources to teach cyber security, coding, software development, apps and games design and data

Delve into the range of extra-curricular materials available – including how to run a girl-friendly coding club, enabling your students to earn digital badges to enhance their CV, and taking part in the #techgoals competition

Hear from an employer about the need for digital skills in the Leeds City Region economy

Explore ideas for using your entitlement of a further 8 hours of CPD relating digital skills, to be used before summer term ends: we’ll explain how your school can claim up to £300 for the costs of your supply cover, should you wish to take these 8 hours as a full day out of the classroom.
