Production Manager: Paralympic Torch Relay Commission
An experienced Production Manager is required by Accentuate to work on a new outdoor commission for the Paralympic Torch Relay Event on 28th August 2012. Accentuate is the London 2012 Legacy Programme for the South East and is based within Screen South.
Taking inspiration from the spirit and vision of Paralympic Athletes and celebrating Stoke Mandeville as the birth place of the Paralympic Games, Starting Line builds a dynamic universal performance collaboration between disabled and non disabled young people from around the globe, including spinally injured young people from Stoke Mandeville Hospital. The work is being created by a team of artistic collaborators and the resulting performance, which includes dance, live art and film, and will be performed by a group of emerging young British dancers.
Rehearsals will take place on 2nd, 3rd, 9th, 10th, 16th and 17th July, as well as additional dates between1st-4th August and from 20th August through until the performance. The appointed Production Manager will need to be available throughout this creation period, and for site visits and meetings prior to the rehearsal period. Successful applicants will need to be available to start work immediately, and be available for key dates mentioned.
Accentuate is looking for submissions from experienced Production Managers with a proven track record in managing large scale productions within budget and on time, including procurement of services, staff and materials. Applicants must have sound knowledge of all current Health & Safety policies and procedures, and prior experience of working on large-scale, outdoor productions.
The fee for this work will be up to £5,000. (minimum of 20 days work expected).
This fee is inclusive of travel. Some days will need to be spent in London, or Aylesbury.
