The Academy Workshops: Travel bursaries available

FREE workshops for artists, producers and creatives start Wednesday 26 October in Blackpool. Travel bursaries available.

Want to grow your freelance arts business or small organisation, find out how theatres and galleries work, learn to make your sums add up and your proposals stand out?

The Academy is a series of 12 workshops from October 2016 – February 2017, developed and delivered by LeftCoast, and supported by Creative Scene, Super Slow Way and Heart of Glass. It’s open to all creative practitioners, and free places and priority booking will be given to people from these Creative People and Places areas.

The first session ‘Step 1’ runs on Wednesday 26th October – A day long workshop exploring what it is that you do, why should anyone care and how are you going to make money out of it?

Future workshops include financial planning, navigating the art world, crowdfunding for the arts, theatre practice, intellectual property, proposal writing, communication, promotion and more.

You can book on the whole Academy programme or ‘Pick ‘n’ Mix’ from our menu of workshops, which will all be delivered as practical hands on sessions, designed to help you move on to the next step in your creative career.
