Up Close and Personal

Routeways and Connections
South Devon AONB and Encounters Arts, with partners, local groups and communities have a wide range of creative outdoor events on offer for you this spring. Explore what makes the Kingswear and Brixham peninsula so very special. There will be stories to tell, trails to follow, maps to write, discoveries to make and music, food, and celebration. Many of these events are free thanks to funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund

Visual artist and host Shelley Castle, is the Encounters Artist leading the Routeways and Connections project and all Encounters events will be delivered by her in collaboration with different partners and practitioners.

Come along to the old market next to the inner harbour for an opportunity to get close to the fish and other marine life that surrounds three sides of the Brixham/ Kingswear Peninsula. Take part in an observational drawing workshop of sea life and fill the fishing nets with drawings. Make postcards, record your stories, listen to others and meet the fish face to face.
