FLOODSTOCK

I am Helen Bentley I created a Floodstock appeal to raise funds for people of Yorkshire in the flood crisis, because I knew Calderdale was kind of covered with lots of money I wanted to help others that wasn't covered by Calderdale funds.
I am a local promoter of live music in the areas of Kirklees & Calderdale under the name of Hellenmonkey promotions to try get more people into there locals to hopefully stop pubs from closing down.
So I asked a lot of bands and pubs from the areas if they could use the Floodstock posters and create events to help me raise money, I had great feedback, there as been many pubs organizing the events, Bands, acts and singers playing for free at the events and lots of local customers putting there hands in there pockets to help raise these funds.
I wasn't expecting to raise as much as we have, but I am really happy we all went forward with my idea and raised as much as we did.
I personally cant thank everyone involved enough because they trusted in my idea and made it great.
The posters, certificates were all designed by a genius that wish's to not be named and personally I would ask him to be involved in any promotional products, that I may need in the future because his designs, made floodstock look professional which helped me a lot to get people to notice what I was doing.
Venues & Bands organized the events, plus the bands/acts that did there thing for free, also how much each venue raised, id appreciate it if we could all be recognized for our efforts, because we have all put a lot of time and effort in to raise this money.
I hope that the money gets spent really well and helps lots of people to get back on with there life's in a comfortable way because it is really bad what as happened and I hope it an help with prevention in the future.
I thank so much to everyone at Yorkshire volunteers flood crisis support for everything they are doing because I wouldn't know the first place to start, so its good to know we have helped them help others.
I am just a small time promoter trying to "Be Vocal To Save The Local" I've been doing the gigs lists for a year now and I know I have a lot of people who appreciate what I do from, venues, band and customers, I just want them recognized for there effort to help others and show my appreciation for them supporting me with Hellenmonkey promotions and believing in the idea of Floodstock.
We managed to raise £5,582.85, when I was only expecting a few hundred so I feel quite overwhelmed by all the support.
