Echoes of Vienna – Beethoven, Mozart & Haydn

Join Hertford Choral Society for an early evening of glorious music from Vienna, bringing together three of the great names of the Classical tradition.

The concert opens with Beethoven’s exhilarating Choral Fantasy in C minor, a remarkable work combining piano, orchestra, solo voices and chorus, and often seen as a fascinating forerunner of his Ninth Symphony.
Pianist Thomas Luke then takes centre stage for Mozart’s much-loved Piano Concerto No. 21, famous for its beautiful, serene slow movement.

The programme culminates in Haydn’s magnificent Harmoniemesse, one of his final great choral works, full of colour, energy and joyful writing for chorus, soloists and orchestra.

Hertford Choral Society is joined by Serafine Sinfonia, with soloists Grace Oliver (soprano), Niamh Kearney (alto), Charlie Eastwood (tenor) and Dominic Felts (bass), conducted by Manvinder Rattan.
