VACANCY: Billing Officer - Hatfield

Hertfordshire Music Service is a large organisation within Herts County Council, with over 25,000 young people involved in activities. We employ over 500 teachers and trade with over 380 schools as well as operating a network of music centres. As part of HCC’s Children’s Services, we strive to ensure that our service is easily accessed by children young people and their families.

We offer music activities for the whole family, including family jams, rock schools, informal learning approaches and projects in composing and performing. At the top of our pyramid of opportunities the County Youth Orchestra is recognised as one of the best in the country, and we have pleasure in promoting other art forms including dance and drama.

Hertfordshire Music Service is seeking a Billing Officer to perform all aspects of sales ledger work for a number of Music Centres from its central office in Hatfield.

You will be responsible for setting up accounts, assigning tuition and activities for invoicing and all aspects of debt control.

You will need to be numerate and literate, able to perform financial calculations and create documentation and correspondence. Strong interpersonal skills are key for this post and clear communication in verbal and written form delivered remotely and in face to face situations

Accuracy and attention to detail and highly developed IT and numeracy skills will be key for this role. The successful candidate will also have strong interpersonal skills and experience of problem solving and negotiating with customers.
