In the current economic climate, it is vital that writers and other arts practitioners have the skills and knowledge to respond to different opportunities.

This workshop, led by Sara Clifford from Inroads, will help writers and other artists develop new skills, diversify their income, be in a position to take advantage of opportunities and take the initiative in creating projects and working in partnership within various health settings: hospitals, hospices and mental health services. The guest visiting speaker will be Kate Tym, a writer with extensive experience of working in healthcare, including a recent poetry project with stroke survivors.

Future session will cover:
Working with Intergenerational groups: children and young people working with groups of elders - 25 Jan 2013
Working with heritage and cultural organisations - 1 Mar 2013

"Really useful, all my questions were answered and I now have lots of ideas I want to explore" 2011 participant.

PLEASE BOOK THROUGH NEW WRITING SOUTH, DETAILS ABOVE.
Sara Clifford works as a writer and drama practitioner in educational, health and criminal justice settings, including work for the National Theatre and Nottingham Playhouse, and as an Education Associate for the Donmar Warehouse Theatre; three residencies for St Christopher’s Hospice and projects for Clean Break Theatre Company and Magic Me.

Kate Tym is a former Random House Commissioning Editor. She has had a wide range of children's books published and one adult novel, and is a performance poet. Kate was the shortlisting judge of the 2012 Stroke Association poetry competition, where Andrew Motion, former poet laureate, was the final judge.
