Cracked Voices

Cracked Voices

Cracked Voices is the new song cycle created by writer Graham Palmer and composer Jenni Pinnock. Described as 'thought-provoking', 'inspirational', 'quirky' and 'poignant' (audience feedback from the premiere in March), come and discover Cracked Voices' secrets at its second performance at Royston Methodist Church!

Based on original research, this ‘incredible project’ (Cambridge105) gives voice to forgotten characters from the borderlands of Hertfordshire and Cambridgeshire.

From Servandus waiting on his lost Celtic goddess, to the POWs celebrating Hitler’s birthday on Therfield Heath. From James Lucas’s confrontation with Charles Dickens to Joyce Hatto’s scandalous recordings.

This performance also features the world premiere of Cracked Objects - the art songs written and composed by Meridian School students as part of the Cracked Voices educational project, and based on objects on display at Royston Museum.

Proceeds from this event will go to the MindEd Trust.
