Love a duck! Is it a bird, is it a plane or is it art?
An iconic symbol of the village of Lindfield was transformed this weekend by a flock of toy ducks swimming in the pond over a busy lunchtime.
The ducks, generously donated by Fun Bags Party Shop of The Broadway Haywards Heath made an appearance to launch the publicity for the 2013 Lindfield Arts Festival being held in and around the village on the weekend of Friday 10th May to Sunday 12th May 2013.
Each year with a different theme, 2013 Festival Director Gabrielle Hall’s vision for the Festival is ‘Stepping into Wonderland, Adventures in Art’ brought to life by the quirky idea of piquing curiosity by staging a takeover of the pond by bright yellow bath ducks.
“We want this year’s Festival to allow everyone, young and old to be able to play and have fun, and for us all to see the world through a child’s eyes. We loved the idea of transforming the pond into an art installation that makes us think about how we see the space around us, especially something as familiar as the pond” said Gabrielle.
At this Valentines time of year, the organisers hope that this bit of fun will help villagers fall in love with the Festival, but the question remains - is it art?
