RUDRA

RUDRA

RUDRA reverberates through the universe... a powerful force in the shape of Shiva
who destroys evil and restores balance.

Rudra is an ancient Sanskrit word, which loosely translates as “heightened
emotion”. Manasamitra resurrects ancient Indian mythology with an exciting
fusion of contemporary music and dance. Choreographer Sonia Sabri, working in
contemporary Kathak brings together four regional dancers to create RUDRA.

An original soundtrack, composed by Shri Sriram, comprises flute, bass, violin and
percussion in an east-west-world electronica style. Combined with energetic dancing and subtle set design, this rich narrative is re-imagined and offers audiences a new experience in Indian arts.

“Contemporary, haunting and beautiful.” – audience member, York Minster
