LOCAL ARTISTS PAY VIBRANT TRIBUTE TO THE LATE DAVID HOCKNEY
The Stevenage Art Society launched a special creative project to honor the life and legacy of David Hockney, one of the most influential British artists of the 20th and 21st centuries, following his passing in June.
Society members were challenged to produce original pieces that paid tribute to Hockney’s signature style, known globally for its vivid, stylized, bold, and bright-colored realism.
Artists across the society's three main disciplines of pottery, glasswork, and painting & drawing responded enthusiastically to the brief. The resulting collection delivers an exceptional array of Hockneyesque imagery, including several striking modern reinterpretations of his most famous masterpieces.
