'Fabric of Life' project - funded by The John Lewis Foundation

Our local John Lewis in Welwyn Garden City has been donating splendid fabrics to our project for the last 18 months. More recently we were invited to apply for funding from the John Lewis Foundation to support any projects we were interested in developing.
Recover’s volunteer fundraiser Elena did an outstanding job successfully securing a generous amount of funding to develop our ‘Fabric Of Life’ project.
The project is to further develop our upholstery skills enabling more of the Team to use these skills in getting employment in the future.
Interestingly the money we received from the John Lewis Foundation is from the 3p charge on their carrier bags – brilliant concept & I expect answers many peoples queries about what happens to the money now charged for carrier bags.
Not only do we now have the funding to develop upholstery skills we also have an amazing selection of ‘high end’ designer fabrics to utilize – all from our friends at John Lewis.
