Stewards Required for St Albans Christmas Market

ST ALBANS knows a thing or two about markets, having one of the oldest regular markets in the UK. So what better City to hold a European-style Christmas Market, located in The Vintry Gardens, Wax House Gate and Sumpter Yard, in the precincts of St Albans Abbey?

We are seeking to appoint Stewards for our first Christmas Market, who will be our daily on-site presence at the Event. Amongst the responsibilities will be:

To support the Duty Manager in the delivery of their role
To be well informed about the Market as well as having a general knowledge about St Albans City
Assisting the public in any way required and dealing with their queries
Working in the on-site Information Chalet
Working agreed shift hours to cover the opening hours of the Market

We are looking for candidates who have good communication skills, can use their own initiative, are confident in dealing with challenging situations, and can work as a team to promote and enhance the festive atmosphere. Unsocial hours working will be required.

The Christmas Market will run from 28th November to 21st December 2013, and the hours per week are flexible, with a maximum of 48 hours. Attendance at training and briefing sessions is also required.
