Duty Nobly Done

An installation of painted poppies as part of Creative Waves' WW1 Discovery Trail in St Pauls Centre, Worthing by Sarah Sepe based on Worthing War Memorial.
Six sheets of Melinex (transparent polyester film) are suspended in a space.
The background sheet has a sketch of the memorial and horizontal lines marking out the months of the year. Subsequent sheets each represent one year of World War 1, each poppy represents a life lost as recorded on the memorial, day by day throughout the war.
