Moving With...Voice
An invitation to restore and reconnect with yourself, with your voice, with the earth.
In this workshop we sink into the sounds of the landscape, discovering subtle relations between movement and voice. We will explore how the voice guides our path and connects us with our ancestors. Through this meditative and mindful journey, we will tune to nature's pulse, transforming sounds of songs and longing into a burst of spring joy.
Ilona Krawczyk is a performer and a singer, specialising in physical theatre and folk singing from various countries and cultures. In her performances, she uses a wide range of vocal techniques, including open throat singing, Persian tahreer and extended vocal techniques. Her recent work explores possible overlaps between physical, musical theatre, experimental music, and sonic art. This has led her to the creation of site-specific performances and sound installations.
Currently, as a PhD candidate at the University of Huddersfield she developed a process-oriented approach to vocal training and performance practice, related to the dreamvoice.
Lucy Smith is a Dramatherapist and improviser who is developing indoor and outdoor movement work as an extension of her therapy, performance and authentic movement practice.
Moving With... is a series of workshops and events where we can take time out as artists and therapists, to nurture ourselves, and rejuvenate our creative practice.
