Our next Smooth Space Artists' Conversation at Torre Abbey is "Memory, Object and the Archive", a talk by Holly Davey (www.hollydavey.com)

We are delighted to welcome artist Holly Davey to Torre Abbey for February's Artists' Conversation. Holly will discuss ideas surrounding memory, object and working with collections and archives. Included in the talk will be a discussion about her recent commission ‘ The Nameless Grace’ for The Holburne Museum, Bath as well as other commissions that question ideas surrounding research, how objects reflect us as well as what is fact or fiction and how do we know what is real?
Since graduating from Goldsmiths College, Holly has exhibited both across the UK and internationally. Over the last year, she has completed a series of commissions: a large photographic collage ‘Nothing Is What It Is Because Everything Is What It Isn’t’ at the National Museum Wales, Cardiff, commissioned by the Colwinston Charitable Trust: a series of photographic performances as part of a group exhibition ‘Fat Birds Don’t Fly’ at Netwerk Gallery, Belgium and a live performance for a group exhibition called ‘Time Will Tell’, Croft Castle, Meadow Arts, UK. Recently she took part in URRA International Artist Residency, Buenos Aires in 2012 and in 2011 received a Creative Wales Award. She lives and works in Cardiff.
