Back after a summer break The Live Music Project leaps into autumn with a line up guaranteed to help you forget the sunshine that didn’t quite appear!

This months gig, on Saturday 3 October sees us joined by Broken Boat, The Antipoet, Dodo Bones, Henrick Solberg and Hannah White.

First up are indie-folk band Broken Boat who have just finished a tour across the UK launching their début album, Small Defeats.

Initially an acoustic folk duo, Broken Boat has expanded into a playful outfit that varies in size but always produces a captivating live show. This is definitely one for fans of The Decemberists and Bright Eyes, or for anyone who likes the sound of a colourful melting pot of folk, country, blues and pop.

Back with a bang from this year’s Edinburgh Festival The Antipoet, Paul Eccentric and Ian Newman, are together the world’s finest exponents of beatrantin’ rhythm ‘n views! Having become enormously successful over the past five years, they now run their own nights in both London and the home counties. They have tirelessly toured the poetry, comedy and music circuits, and have appeared at countless festivals including, Glastonbury, Edinburgh, Brighton, Ledbury, Camden, Wenlock, Larmer Tree, Nostock, Blyth Power Ashes and Buxton.

‘The Antipoet is an act at the forefront of the new movement, with material dripping in parody. They take poetry to a new level, with performances as memorable as they are hilarious’ – The Stage

After hatching in early 2009, DodoBones have since been attracting attention with gritty, emotion driven records and live performances of their own material, accompanied by a variety of ironic pop covers, thrown for good measure. Hailing from Hemel Hempstead they are “All singing, all songwriting, acoustic-type and love birds”.

Two new artists join us at this months gig the first is Henrick Solberg is a singer/songwriter from Norway currently based in London. He writes acoustic indie folk songs with a dash of soul and pop that takes inspiration from artists like City and Colour, Bon Iver, John Mayer, Allen Stone etc. His style is heavily based around his unique vocals and sweet melodies. Solberg released his debut EP “Hello World” February 20th, 2015.

The second, described by Pete Sargaent (Blues Matters) as “a Norah Jones with an edge” is Hannah White, a singer-songwriter with a voice, Acoustic Magazine claimed “you will want to protect and become besotted with”.

Having worked with acclaimed producers such as; Simon Ellis (Brit Award winner), Roger Cotton (Peter Green, BB King, Eric Bibb, Carlos Santana & Paul McCartney), Gerry Diver (Lisa Knapp, Christy Moore, Shane McGowan, Tom Robinson) and most recently with Nigel Stonier (Joan Baez, The Fairport Convention, Martha Wainwright, Thea Gilmore).

Hannah is a feminist and an ambassador of independent music and art of all kinds; with the acclaim of a national publication asserting “it is only a matter of circumstance that will determine whether [Hannah’s album] will become the soundtrack to a big Hollywood movie” Hannah’s newest release ‘Whose Side Are You On?’, out in September, is arguably her best work yet.
