Tilter Wheel - bluegrass concert at Meltham Community Hub

Tilter Wheel - bluegrass concert at Meltham Community Hub

True North Music is delighted to present an evening of bluegrass at Meltham Community Hub. Top British bluegrass band Tilter Wheel features excellent musicians from the north of England, including Marsden-based banjo whizz Jonny Hulme (also a member of Celtic/bluegrass fusion band the House Devils) and Preston-based mandolinist/guitar player and singer extraordinaire Simon Brady (ex Swing Commanders). Guitar maestro Paul Higham and talented double bass player Ray Walmsley, both highly experienced and skilful players on the folk/acoustic roots scene, make up the quartet. All four musicians have been performing and gigging with various bands for many years. Expect stomping tunes and an eclectic repertoire of songs from bluegrass to pop, Western Swing to old time country. This will be a night of top notch musicianship from a highly entertaining band.

Tickets are a nominal £2, as this event is being supported by Kirklees Council's Arts in the Neighbourhood funding. The event is part of the 125th anniversary celebrations of the opening of the Carlile Institute, a fine 19th Century building which is now home to Meltham Community Hub. Online tickets strictly limited as most tickets are being sold locally. You can buy tickets at Café 33 and The Flower Box, online at Wegottickets.com (note 10% booking fee online)
