" Off the Wall " Exhibition

Bushey Museum & Art Gallery presents a new exhibition featuring a diverse collection of paintings and other artworks on loan exclusively from private collections.
Departing from the traditional curated theme, “Off the Wall” celebrates the personal tastes and hidden treasures of volunteers and Friends of Bushey Museum. The exhibition offers a rare glimpse into the art that lives in private homes, featuring a disparate range of artworks in terms of age, style and medium, but every piece having a connection to Bushey.
“This show is a tribute to the people who support us,” says Hannah Schoenholtz, Art Curator. “By literally taking these pieces ‘off the walls’ of our Friends' and volunteers’ homes and placing them in a public gallery, we’re sharing the personal stories and eclectic passions of local collectors.”
Because the works are drawn from various private sources, visitors can expect an unpredictable journey through different eras, subject matter and media. The exhibition highlights the idea that art doesn't need to follow a single narrative to be powerful; its value often lies in the joy it brings to its everyday keepers.
