We want to write your song!

We want to write your song!

The creators of a classical song cycle are asking the public for suggestions of who they should base their final song on.

Composer Jenni Pinnock and writer Graham Palmer have already written songs about a local shopkeeper, a prisoner-of-war and a dog-walker for the Arts Council funded classical music project.

Graham Palmer said, 'The idea behind Cracked Voices is to tell the stories of unheard of or forgotten local people.'

'We are not looking for the great and the good...just ordinary people who more often than not go unnoticed. Someone who made a difference to your life. Maybe a relative or friend.'

The finished song will be included in the Cracked Voices song cycle, which will be professionally premiered in Cambridge and featured in a Royston concert in the spring of 2018.

The public can make a suggestion via an online form at cracked-voices.co.uk/your-voice

Suggestions should be submitted before 30 June 2017. Anyone submitted must have been born or lived in the Cracked Voices area (North Hertfordshire, South Cambridgeshire and East Bedfordshire) and passed away at least five years ago.
If you are interested in the project, you can sign up to an e-newsletter at www.cracked-voices.co.uk or follow it at twitter.com/crackedsongs or facebook.com/crackedsongs

Cracked Voices is supported by Grants for the Arts and the PRS Foundation.
