Drawn Together

An exhibition of collaborative paintings by students in Anita Reynolds' workshops at Harbour House.

Opening view: Tuesday 6 November, 5 - 7 pm.

"As part of each workshop day I invent warm-up exercises to get the creative juices flowing. Coming straight into a studio and expecting to produce good work immediately is like asking an athlete to run a marathon with no stretching first!

In recent years these warm-ups have become collaborative mainly to prevent individuals from being scared of failure, but also to present artists with marks and colours that they might not usually make or choose when working alone.

The ultimate aim for me, as mentor, was to encourage new ways of making images. However, an unexpected outcome has been the accumulation of a series of amazing paintings and drawings and I feel they deserve to be shown to a wider audience."
