Jane Rusbridge is a writer living in a tiny village in the South Downs with her husband, a farmer, and the youngest of their five children. Jane has lived in West Sussex for nearly 30 years and, until recently, was based in West Wittering. Jane is Associate Lecturer in English at the University of Chichester where she has taught for more than 10 years.

Jane's short stories have been published in anthologies and literary magazines, and won or been listed in national and international competitions such as the Bridport Prize (2003,2005) and the Fish Prize (2006). In 2005 she won WritersInc Writer-of-the-Year Award, judged by Mario Petrucci, Sue Hubbard and Tobias Hill.

Jane's first novel, THE DEVIL'S MUSIC (Bloomsbury, 2009) was nominated for the 2011 International IMPAC Literary Award. Her second, ROOK, will be published by Bloomsbury in 2012.
