Plain Quakers Theatre

Plain Quakers Theatre Swansong

PLAIN QUAKERS THEATRE, based in Holmfirth, was founded by Arthur Pritchard and Mike Casey.

In September and October we are performing our latest play, Swansong, a wry comedy about loneliness in old age, in a number of venues around Huddersfield.

We offer thought-provoking and entertaining theatre with humour and a light touch. Using simple story-telling theatre and minimal resources, we aim to raise awareness of Quaker concerns and traditions through plays that are relevant and accessible, and that encourage an active engagement with Quaker testimonies on peace, simplicity, and ethical living, in the context of contemporary global capitalism.

Performances are usually free, with a collection taken for a local charity, and take place in a variety of community settings, but most often in Quaker Meeting Houses throughout the UK.

If you would like to know more about our work do please get in touch.
