Susan E Ash

Susan E Ash Painter and Photographer

I am a painter and photographer and I use both to express my ideas and visions and opinions. I have been an artist since an early age but have also been involved in putting women photographers on the box through my role in getting 5 Women Photographers on C4 in 1985/6 and in researching Lucia Moholy whose photographs are used in most descriptions of the Bauhaus and who was married to Moholy Nagy a hungarian painter and photographers and one of the first people to create photograms alongside Man Ray and an exponent of differing angles in photography after Rodchenko. At present I am exploring Wistmans Wood with both photographs and drawings. I live in Harbertonford where I exhibited in the Open Studios there in 2011. Since I wrote the above I have exhibited @ Harbour House in Kingsbridge for 10 days in February last year 10th - 19th and Birdwood House, Totnes in May. The exhibition was called "Formations in Nature" and was a joint exhibition with Sara and Graham Gilbert.
I have now left Agora Gallery and am a part of the up and coming Open Studio Exhibition in Harbertinford on the 23rd, 24th, and 25th of May!
